Christmas Eve Festivities

Hey guys! If you celebrated, I hope you had a wonderful Christmas. My family and I celebrated on Christmas eve, and it was so fun to have all my brothers and their families at my parent’s house.

On Christmas eve, I got woke a lot later than I had planned so I didn’t go run until about 2. I, of course, had to eat something before I left for my run so I did that.

After my run I got ready for mass. My brother Adrian, his wife, 3 of my nieces, and I all went to the early Christmas mass. We arrived there about 30 minutes early, and it was already packed. After mass, we went back to my parent’s house to eat dinner. My mom made tamales, beans, chicken enchiladas, nachos, and bought some ice cream pies for dessert. It was all soo good. I definitely had a food baby going on.;)

Brother and I after dinner. Love him. He will be running a half marathon in April with me!:)

After dinner, we opened presents. I always love watching the kids open their gifts. They get so excited! I was really excited to give my brothers their present from my mom. We got them matching Nike sweatshirts that I was super excited about.

We match! Kinda:)

I don’t know why they weren’t as excited as I was about us matching. I brought up the great idea that we should all run a race together wearing matching outfits. They didn’t really think it was that cool. Weirdos.

I’ve been trying to increase my mileage before I officially start training for the half marathon in April. I wont start until the end of January, so I still have some time. Today I went on the treadmill at the gym and ran 7 awesome miles. It’s amazing what two cups of coffee can do for a run.

I was pretty pleased with my time.

How was your Christmas (if you celebrated)?

Treadmill runs or outside runs?

Free at last!!!

Hey everyone! I hope everyone is enjoying the holidays! I ended up doing most of Christmas shopping this weekend which was not a very smart thing to do because it was so crazy in the stores! I luckily got everything I needed, and it only took me a couple of hours thanks to the help of my dad and my niece, Mya. The reason I didn’t make start Christmas shopping until this past weekend was because I have been so busy with school and trying to get all my vaccines and stuff done for pharmacy school. It is so crazy how busy the end of the semester is. I had two tests on the last day, so I had been spending most of my time studying or hanging out with my friends. I still need to recap the Route 66 marathon relay and the Turkey Trot I did with my brother. I know have quite a bit of time on my hands so I will definitely get those up soon. 🙂 P.S. I will be inserting some random pictures so it doesn’t end up being an all word post.

Apple Martini:)

I know I have not been commenting on blogs like I used to, but I promise that whenever I had free time from studying, I was totally reading. 🙂

I made a Treble in the Kitchen taco-style spaghetti squash. It was super delish!

I know I have mentioned before how excited I am about starting pharmacy school in the spring, but the closer the end of the semester got, the more excited I became. Meeting the deadlines, and everything else just makes it that much more real which is insane! I only have a couple of more things to complete. I also went to enroll earlier this month, and it was such a crazy feeling. I’ll be in a small class of about 35 students so we will all have the same classes at the same time, everyday. One of my really great friends got in with me so we have been texting back and forth of how excited we are for January.

Anyways, I’m very excited to be spending Christmas eve with all of my family. Since my brothers are married, it’s hard to all spend the holidays together since their wives also want to spend them with their families. This year though all my brothers will be at my parents house so I am a very happy girl. 🙂 My mom has been working so hard to get so many tamales made for tomorrow.

I’m hoping to get in a nice long run tomorrow before the rest of my family arrives. I’ve been trying to increase my mileage a bit before I start training for a half marathon in April. I ran a couple of times last week, but I’ve taken the last few days off to rest. I’m loving my Nike GPS watch. I like that it does everything that I need it to do. I bought the white for myself as a “congrats for getting into pharmacy school” gift. 😉

Bundled up for a 30* outdoor run.

Taken while I was on my run. Haha:) I wanted to send it to my brother to show him how much fun I was having running in the cold.

On Thursday, it was first day of break so I was getting ready to go ice skating with my friends. I got bored and decided to cut myself some bangs. I figured if Janae was brave enough, then I could be too. This could have ended very horrific, but luckily they came out okay.

One of my friends told me I looked sassy. Haha:)

Tia and I ice skating. Kinda. We were actually sitting down at this point because the ice was really dangerous and had crazy ice skaters that would go in between you even if you were holding hands with your bff! So rude. The bangs barely a few hours old.

I hope everyone has a great Christmas with their families. I cannot wait to be obnoxious and take a bunch of pictures of everyone. I just hope I don’t get too distracted by food.;)

Have you ever tried to cut your own hair?
